Kelavarapalli Dam from Bangalore: Cycling Trip

Kelavarapalli dam is situated at a distance of around 45 Km towards the south. This dam is situated in the Hosur taluk of Krishnagiri district of Tamilnadu state of India on river Ponnaiyar. There are two routes to the Kelavarapalli dam from Bangalore.

  • Via Sarjapur and Bagalur

This route will be more convenient for the people who live in the eastern part of Bangalore such as Marathalli, Mahadevpura, KR Puram, Whitefield etc.

  • Chennai highway via silk board, electronic city, and Hosur

For the rest of the Bangalore, this route should be more convenient.

More about Kelavarapalli dam:

There is an entrance fee of Rupees 5 for the adults. However, there is no ticket for the children. There is also a child playing area nearer to the dam where you can see hawkers and vendors selling snacks. The dam has an entrance. On one side of the entrance, there is a big lake and on another side of the entrance, there is a park, water gate and children playing area. Sunset and sunrise, both of them, look magnificent around the dam.

Cycling to Kelavarapalli dam:

Cycling to Kelavarapalli dam passes through the spectacular countryside around Bangalore. The last 15 Km of the ride via either of the routes is very scenic as it passes through the village area.
