There are a lot of Homestay locations around Kodachadri hills. Even there are many other options to stay in the nearby towns around which Homestays are located. But it is important to choose where to stay and which homestay to live in. The best place for Homestay that I would like to recommend will be Kattinahole. There is a lot of options for the homestays around Kattinahole.
Here is a list of the Kodachadri homestays around Kattinahole:
These two homestays are located in the area called Mathikai which is around 3 Kms from the Kattinahole Kodachadri Jeep stand from where you can get a jeep ride to the Kodachadri peak.
There is another Homestay near Kattinahole Jeep stand which has got some of the best Google reviews is Kodachadri Pathalagere Homestay Or Resort. The best option would be to stay in the Kodachadri Pathalagere Homestay Or Resort.
Kodachadri Jeep Ride:
There are two options for the Kodachadri jeep ride. One is from the Kattinahole side and another is from the Kollur. Both of the options have been explained below:
Kodachadri Jeep ride from Kattinahole:
From the Kattinahole side, I would recommend you to take the Jeep ride unless and until you think you can drive on a trail. One can drive up to the peak of the Kodachadri hill. However, last 10 Kms of the drive is uphill. As the road condition to Kodachadri peak is not good.
It is advisable to take four by four vehicle or one can easily drive with the bike. Driving with pillion might be a problem during monsoon. You can book the entire jeep for around 2500-3000 rupees. Else, if you are alone, you can pay around 300-400 per head for the shared jeep.
By Jeep to Kodachadri from the Kollur town:
If you are in a group of six to eight people, you can book the entire jeep for around 2500-3000 rupees to the Kodachadri peak from Kollur town. Else, if you are alone, you can pay around 300-400 per head for the shared jeep.
The jeep drops you to “Kodachadri information bureau” point because the motorable road is until there. From there to the Kodachadri peak, you will have to walk or trek almost 2 Kms to the peak. The jeep waits for you for almost two hours and then you can return to Kollur town by the same jeep.
The jeep will drop you at the Kodachadri peak jeep stand or near the Kodachadri Information Bureau point. There are further 2 Kms of trekking from there until the Kodachadri sunset point which takes around 40 minutes to reach at the sunset point.

If you want to attempt the Kodachadri trek via Hidlumane falls then you might have to ask for a guide at the homestays. Talk in advance before booking.
