Last weekend I happened to go on a trip with my coworkers to Amberina Homestay near Devala. Next morning, I got a chance to explore the places around Devala and know more about this place.
Devala is basically a small town in the Nilgiris district or the Western Ghats, en route Gudalur in Tamilnadu to Meppadi in Kerala. This place is also known as the little Cherrapunji of the South India because of the amount of rain it receives from the Arabian sea.
So basically, Devala lies in between two national parks, Mudumalai National park in Tamilnadu and New Amarambalam Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala.
Since Devala is situated at the border of Tamilnadu and Kerala, you also get to see a lot of peaceful tea gardens. One way to see Devala as a peaceful is like this:
- Devala is much more peaceful and less crowded than other famous hill stations like Munnar, Ooty.
- However, if you are a nature lover and you want to spend some peace time then Devala is for you because one you reach there you would not be able to go for shopping or seeing around places other than Nature.
Amberina HomeStay Devala Review:
Amberina Homestay is little off from the town of Devala surrounded by the tea farms and just tea farms spread over tens of acres of land. It is basically a big house in middle of tea gardens and beautiful sceneries surround this place.
Around Amberina Homestay:
Here is the location of Amberina Homestay. As you can see, this place is little off from the town and surrounded by Nature.
One fine morning, I had the chance to step out and I do not remember how long I walked in those 2-3 hours. Here a few list of the natural things which amazed me around this Homestay:
- Tea Gardens
- Small stream of water
- scenery etc.
But that’s not all. Amberina has much more to offer than just the surroundings and that is the stay in the Amberina homestay.
Stay at Amberina Homestay review:
Rooms at Amberina homestay are quite big with nice mattress and other things. One of the loveliest thing about the rooms were their bathrooms. Bathrooms are really big with bathtub and even table and chair etc.
There is a big verandah around the homestay. The verandah is really big and spacious. Beside the verandah, there is a spacious living room, dining room etc. You can read more about the Amberina Homestay and its facilities here.
Another thing which I liked the most was the trekking through the tea estates in the back of the Amberina homestay and going to the local peak and enjoying the view from there. If you love trekking and you like to explore places on foot, you will love this place.
