Vancouver Aquarium: Timings, Prices, Parking, & Other details

Vancouver Aquarium is located in the Stanley Park, Vancouver and is famous for marine life research, conservations and rehabilitation. It is spread across 9000 square meters and has a total of 9,500,000 liters of water in 166 aquatic displays.

Vancouver Aquarium Opening Hours

Vancouver Aquarium opening hours are from 10 AM to 5 PM every day. Although they say that they are open 365 days a year, Holidays might have different timings. More details about the hours can be found here.

Vancouver Aquarium Entry Fees

Please note: Visitors and Members?must?reserve tickets online, in advance. Tickets are?date and time specific to control the number of people in the Aquarium. Make a reservation online to lock in your ticket price! General Admission ticket prices may vary from day-to-day, but when you plan ahead you’re guaranteed the lowest price at the time of booking PLUS a timed ticket that secures your preferred entrance time! There’s no better way to explore life underwater with the whole family

There are different entry fees for different age group and type. Here are the details:

  • Adult – $38 + Tax
  • Senior (65+) – $30+ Tax
  • Student – $30+ Tax
  • Child (4-12) – $21+ Tax
  • Child (3 and under) – FREE

Besides General admission fee, you can also choose for an annual membership fee, if you think you shall be visiting the aquarium more often. Here are the details:

  • Individual (Regular 13-64) – $75 + Tax
  • Senior (65+) – $65+ Tax
  • Student (19+ with ID) – $65+ Tax
  • Child (4-12) – $43+ Tax
  • Child (3 and under) – FREE

There are interesting tickets terms and conditions:

  • Tickets are valid for one year after the date of purchase and are non-refundable and non-transferable to other events. Tickets are not restricted for use by the purchaser only. That means on a ticket, anyone can go visit the aquarium.
  • A student has to show the student card in order to get a discount at the ticket counter. If you have bought online, you need to show current student ID card at the entrance.
  •  Children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a paying adult or guardian aged 13 or over.

What’s included in the ticket?

Access to 135,000 square feet of engaging exhibits and, free admission to our 4-D theatre. I would encourage you to visit the 4D theatre. I went during the Christmas month and they screen Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. The experience was really awesome. I am sure your kids are also going to love it.

Special Ticket discount at Vancouver aquarium

There are special ticket discounts at the Vancouver aquarium as well. Those discounts are listed below. Read them before you proceed to buy a ticket:

  • Accessibility discounts

Visitors with a disability or special needs can request a 50 % discount off of the general admissions price, or a free attendant when paying full price admissions. We also accept Access 2 Entertainment cards.

  • 5% general group discount

Discounted group rates apply to a minimum of 10 paying guests which include Corporate, ESL, Government, Military, Family, or out-of-country groups. Can be applied upon admission; pre-booking is not required, must pay in one lump sum.

  • Take public transit and save $2

Take transit in support of ocean health and receive a $2 admission discount when you display a valid transit pass, such as a Compass Card, Daypass, or FareSaver.

  • Bike to the Aquarium and save $2

Biking is a great way to get to the Aquarium located in beautiful Stanley Park. Please show your bike helmet to the General Admissions window to receive this discount.

  • $2 off military discount

Are you a member of the Military, Canadian or abroad? Please show the General Admission window your Military ID to receive this discount for you and your party.

  • School & day camps discount

Discounted rates apply to a minimum of 10 paying guests for organizations such as public schools, day camps, and not-for-profit organizations. Pre-booking is required at least 7 days in advance. Please contact the booking office for details.

  • Ocean Park Hong Kong reciprocal admission discount

Receive a 15% admission discount to either facility by presenting the admission ticket stub from the partnering venue.

  • Social media offers

Occasionally we post promotions on our Facebook and Instagram pages. These typically occur in our low season so if you have not already “Liked” or “Followed” us please do so to stay up to date on any Vancouver Aquarium news and promotions.

  • Tour groups

This section is intended for tour operators. Group bookings can be made Monday – Friday at 604-659-3552 or 1-800-931-1186. Volume incentives are available.

Besides these, they also host events only for adults in the evening on some occasions where only adults entries are allowed so that you can enjoy beer and drinks and you do not get to get disturbed by the children noises.

Vancouver Aquarium After Hours

After hours events at Vancouver aquarium are adults only. The purpose here is to give adults/ couples time to enjoy the aquarium without the disturbance of kids. After hours happen mostly in the evening and beyond regular timings. More details about the after hours can be found on this page.

Vancouver aquarium parking

The parking lots are not Aquarium property and require payment. There are Easy Park machines located throughout the parking lot. You may purchase parking by the hour or all day and we generally recommend a minimum of 3 hours to explore the Aquarium.
